SHIRLI JADE CARSWELL—Passionate about Africa; her energy, life, spirit and career revolve around the continent and its wildlife. Shirli cut her teeth in the world of advertising after art-school, realising her strength was in the raw design field. With her love for nature and travel, she originated her own design company called JADEWORKS, which has made a name for itself in the safari and tourism industry.
Photography was a natural evolution, and the more she experimented, the more she was captivated by the medium - the collaboration of design, travel and vision initiated through the name of AFRICAALIVE.
She has travelled extensively in Africa and co-authored a photographic coffee table book called "Africa's Ultimate Safaris", in addition to becoming a co-owner and founder of The Wildside Safari Company, an exciting travel venture. Writing for travel magazines gives her images a narrative to thread through adventures and bizarre incidents she has experienced.
